You started playing together back in 2006 and you’ve already done achieved a lot. Touring with Sum 41, supported Good Charlotte, Billy Talent and Millencolin just to mention a few. What was your breakthrough, what started it all?
- Playing with all these great bands has been amazing. The first band we actually toured with back in the days was Backyard Babies and I think that tour was really important for us. Other things that helped us was myspace and of course our booking agent Markus. Then I guess that our debut album had a good song or two…
Among all the shows you’ve done, I guess that some stick in your memory more than others. Is there a particular show that you can tell us more about?
- It’s impossible to pick one but I remember the first time we played at Hultsfredsfestivalen. I had been dreaming of playing there since I was young so when we got the gig I was really excited. I don’t remember much of the show but I remember the huge crowd.
…and what kind of person would I be if I didn’t have a little Squier®-talk with you Oscar. What can you tell us about the bass you’re playing?
- I must admit that I was a little skeptic when I first picked it up but when I started playing I was blown away by the sound and how well built it was. I got rid of the tone control cause I never use it and for me it’s the perfect punk/rock bass.
Last but not least, what can you tell us about Neverstores plan for 2010?
- We’re going on tour this spring and then we’ll play festivals this summer.
We're hoping to come back to Japan and Germany later on. The plans for 2010 can be summed up with one word: touring!
Thank you for you time, Oscar. Fender wishes you the best of luck!
